    School Philosophy

     At Meyokumin School, everyone in our school community has the right to learn and work in an environment that is respectful, safe, healthy and focused on learning and success. In order to preserve these rights, students have the responsibility to participate actively and productively in all situations. Conduct throughout the school must be appropriate so that all class members and teachers may concentrate on the tasks they are performing. We believe that both home and school share the responsibility for teaching appropriate and acceptable behaviour. By working together, we can ensure positive student conduct.

    School Profile

    Meyokumin School is a community school with a culturally diverse population of approximately 580 students.  We offer two programs; the regular or Mainstream program and the alternative Cogito program.  Within these programs we offer French as a Second Language and a Punjabi Language and Cultural Classes.

Pre-enrolment and Registration for the 2026–27 School Year

KEY DATES

  • Pre-enrolment and registration both start on at 8 a.m. on February 2, 2026.
  • The deadline for all families to choose their school for the 2026–27 school year is 4 p.m. on March 25, 2026.

NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION

If your child is new to Edmonton Public Schools, you can register for school online. Visit the Division website to learn how to register for school.

Principal Message

WELCOME TO MEYOKUMIN SCHOOL

Welcome to Meyokumin School! On behalf of our staff, I want to welcome every family into our school community. The staff at our school are committed and dedicated to working with families so that each student can achieve their personal best. We take pride in having a safe and respectful environment for our students, staff, and anyone entering our school.

Our school has an outstanding reputation for its commitment to learning and academic excellence. We constantly look for ways to ensure our students have the best opportunity to learn and grow into healthy, successful citizens. 

We also strongly believe that parental involvement positively impacts student success at school. We ask all parents to take an active role in their child’s education by supporting reading at home, attending school events, ensuring that homework is completed on a daily basis, and checking SchoolZone regularly for class and school updates.  Research has shown conclusively that, when families take an interest in education, students are likely to achieve well in school.  Through the efforts of our entire school community, we can support our students in developing their own unique skills and talents and prepare them for a life of continued success!
